I started the Couch to 5K program last week... and in the first week you walk five minutes; run 1 minute; walk for 1.5 minutes then run 1 minute and repeat the walk 1.5 run 1 minute for 20 minutes total. I never thought that I could run for the 8 minutes that the first week calls for.... although the 8 minutes aren't all at one time... I still never thought I could do it! Not only did I do it the first day, I have stayed on track with this training for two full weeks now. I have one day left in week two (But for week two I repeated week one), and I am looking forward to the next step. Tomorrow I will actually start the week two training (although it will be my week three. I am very excited! This has actually been fun so far and with all the cool apps I have on my iPhone, it makes it fun and easy to challenge yourself!

The Encourage Hers
Also, wanted to say that this 200 calorie idea was suggested by members of a new group I joined called The Encourage Hers. All these ladies are coming together to help with each others fitness goals :) I am so thankful to Monique (Zumba instructor) for showing me through Zumba I can do more than I give myself credit for and I am thankful for Kathy for the Encourage Hers :) Making big changes in life and loving it!
200 calories every few hours
Let me tell you what, I gave this a try the past two days and it has been WONDERFUL! I eat a healthy 200 calorie "meal" every couple of hours and I have not been hungry one time! So far today I have had a yogurt, some almonds, egg whites, mushrooms and onions. Getting ready to have a cup of black bean turkey chili; and then I will have dinner tonight!
